Bakri Gawish, Secretary-General of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, met today at the Federation of Trade Towers with the delegation of the Economic and Social Committee for Western Asia (ESCWA) to help Sudan develop a plan for implementing the national single window.
The Secretary-General of the Federation praised the delegation’s interest in involving the Federation of Chambers of Commerce in developing a plan to implement the single national window project, stressing the Federation’s readiness to support, support and facilitate the delegation’s mission and provide the required information that contributes to achieving the objectives of the visit.
Fathia Abdel-Fadil, head of the ESCWA delegation, praised the response of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce to accomplish and complete the delegation’s mission, which is to study the current situation of government institutions and the private sector, prepare a report on the situation and gaps, and prepare a feasibility study for the establishment of the single window. She stressed that ESCWA began cooperation with Sudan since 2012 by holding sectoral workshops It concluded by preparing a report and a study on the establishment and application of a single window system to facilitate trade in Sudan, noting that one of the delegation’s tasks is to develop this study.
For his part, the expert in the Economic and Social Committee for Western Asia (ESCWA) Kamal Aqeeb explained the importance of establishing and implementing the single window system in Sudan for the private sector, indicating that it is the first beneficiary of implementation in terms of reducing time and cost and fighting intruders in a way that contributes to increasing profits and ensuring an increase in government revenues. The unified experience of the beginnings of Tunisia in implementing the single window, which is very similar to the experience of Sudan at this stage.
The meeting was attended by M. Al-Moez Farouk, President of the National Chamber of Contractors and Chairman of the Chamber of Economic Services, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Safi and Alaa El-Din Noureddine, member of the Executive Office of the National Chamber of Exporters, and Dr. Mubarak Abdo Saleh, Director General of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce.
